Everyday,
Average Joe takes his smiles and dumps them down a well he passes on his way to work.
After his long shift, he opens his wallet and shakes the dollars & change into that well.
On his days off, he sits by the well watching other Joes & Janes bereave their everything.
He peers down and sees infinite value glinting at the bottom, and wonders,
Where does it all go?
-
Little Joe doesn’t understand why Average Joe never buys him toys,
Average Joe replies, average people can’t afford such luxuries.
Before work, one day, Little Joe asks, will I get a job, someday, so I can throw all my things in the well just like you?
Average Joe smiles and says, you won’t need to because you’re better than average, You’re a very special boy.
But in the back of his mind, he knows things are going to be far worse for Little Joe.
